CCEM official partner of Black & Veatch, USA for the upcoming investment project - 400 kV OHL Gutinaș-Strășeni, Romania - Republic of Moldova interconnection
From June 10-12, 2024, CCEM actively participated in coordination meetings and workshops for the construction of the future 400 kV Gutinaș-Strășeni OHL, an investment supported by the USAID regional program “Investments in the Development of Energy Assets” (IDEA).
Key representatives from the energy sector of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, the diplomatic community, and representatives from the USAID Mission in Moldova and Black & Veatch, USA, attended the events. The discussions focused on the feasibility of the project, environmental and social impact aspects, and the necessary action plan for its implementation.
The background of CCEM’s participation in these events is the agreement signing, at the end of May 2024, as Black & Veatch subcontractor, under the umbrella of USAID-funded program “IDEA”.
The purpose of the contract is to assess the environmental and social impact – preliminary phase I for the construction of the future 400 kV OHL Gutinaș-Strășeni, which will interconnect Romania and Moldova power systems.
USAID’s support through the IDEA program is essential for strengthening Moldova’s energy resilience and security of supply.
