The Romanian consortium – INOVECO (lead partner) and CCEM, signed yesterday, 24 August 2026, the contract for the design and construction of two waste transfer stations in Waste Management Region No. 5 of the Republic of Moldova.

Valued at EUR 3.2 million and scheduled for implementation over 16 months, the contract provides for the development of the stations in Nișcani and Nisporeni. The facilities will receive waste collected from local communities, compact it and transfer it in high-capacity containers to the waste management centre for sorting and treatment.

The investment is part of the “Solid Waste Moldova” Project (2023–2028), coordinated by the Ministry of Environment through the National Office for Environmental Project Implementation. The project aims to establish a modern, efficient regional waste management system for the Ungheni, Călărași and Nisporeni districts.

The project is financed by EBRD, BEI and Sweden’s contribution through the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P).

Through this collaboration, CCEM is, once again, involved in creating, in the region, an infrastructure aligned with European environmental protection and safety standards.
