CCEM Experts Involved in Emergency Works on Watercourses Affected by September 2024 Floods
Starting this year, the Environment Division within CCEM is involved in a new engineering and technical assistance contract related to the cleaning, sanitation, unblocking, and dredging of watercourses impacted by the extreme hydrometeorological events that occurred between September 13–19, 2024, in Galați and Vaslui counties.
The contract, carried out under emergency procedures, covers the preparation of the Basic Design and the provision of technical assistance during the execution phase. The works are being executed by EURO Construcții Arhis, acting as general contractor, the final beneficiary being the Prut-Bârlad Water Basin Administration, under the investment authority of the Romanian National Administration “Apele Române”.
The interventions are organised into four lots, totalling over 25 sites across 37 localities:
- Lot 1 – Zorleni, Trestiana, Jaravăț, Mihona, Brăițeni, and Epureni rivers (Vaslui County);
- Lot 2 – Chineja River and its tributaries, Horincea River (Galați County);
- Lot 3 – Suhu River and its tributaries, Lozova River (Galați County);
- Lot 4 – Geru River and its tributaries, Corozel River and its tributaries (Galați County).
Our team of specialists from the Environment Division contributes to restoring the functionality of the affected watercourses, with a strong focus on preventing future risks associated with extreme climate events.
This project reflects thus CCEM’s commitment to sustainable solutions and rapid interventions in support of vulnerable communities and environmental infrastructure.
